Even though Grove, Oklahoma is a small town, there are quite a few fun things to do there and even more in the surrounding area. You’ll be pleasantly surprised by the variety of activities available!
1. Har-Ber Village Museum
One of the most popular things to do in Grove, Oklahoma is visiting the Har-Ber Village Museum. It is a huge collection of America’s past from the mid-1800s to the early 1900s. There is a pioneer-era village with over 100 exhibits.
These numbered exhibits include wagons, occupations, farm equipment, military, dolls, dishes, seashells, and much more. There are shops set up as they would have been. Take a look at the one-room schoolhouse, the bank, the barbershop, the beauty shop, and other occupations highlighted.
There is also a kid’s area with a cabin to play house in and a toy room to keep them entertained. These are located toward the end of the numbered exhibits.
Har-Ber Village is open from the second Saturday in March through the first Saturday in November with special events happening in April and September. This place is huge. Plan to spend at least 3 hours here to see everything.
The path between exhibits is paved. However, there are steps to get into the buildings and part of the path is quite steep.
There is also a nature trail on the property. It is almost 2 miles long, is pet friendly, and has a 3/4 mile accessible section. It is open from dawn to dusk and does not require museum admission.
2. Lendonwood Gardens
Lendonwood Gardens, one of the best gardens in Oklahoma, is an eight-acre botanical garden with a wide variety of plants. Stop by the welcome center to speak with a volunteer, pay the small entrance fee, and ask questions about this beautiful place.
There are eight distinct gardens. The current blooms change depending on the time of the year of your visit. The azalea garden is beautiful in the spring when the pink, white, red, and purple azaleas are in full bloom.
The Japanese Pavilion is a relaxing oasis with traditional elements including a small pond and bridges.
The gardens also have an Angel of Hope statue, an American backyard garden, a display garden, an English terrace garden, an Oklahoma garden, and an Oriental garden.
3. Grand Lake O’ the Cherokees

5. Bernice Area at Grand Lake State Park
The Bernice Area of Grand Lake State Park is worth the 15-minute drive from Grove.
Check out the nature center with an informative ranger, a friendly tortoise, a bunny, snakes, and other interesting things. There is a touch table for kids (and adults) to feel some of the nature items that have been found around the park. These include snake skins, nuts, skulls, and more.
Take a walk on the paved Bernice State Park Nature Trail. It is a 1/2 mile-long out-and-back trail. The entire thing is an easy one-mile trek with minimal elevation changes. There are a few observation towers to stop and explore along the way.
If you are traveling with kids, let them run off some energy at one of the two playgrounds. There is also a rock beach that makes a great swimming spot during the warmer months.
6. Miami, Oklahoma
Miami has a rich Route 66 and Native American history. To learn about the town, visit the Dobson Museum.
Miami also has an abundance of murals on Main Street. Stop and take some pictures and enjoy the art.

If you are visiting in the fall and have kids with you, it is worth the 35-minute drive from Grove to Annabelle’s Fun Farm.
Annabelle’s, the best pumpkin patch in the area, has been a local favorite for many years. With over 30 attractions, your family is guaranteed to have a good time.
Pick out your pumpkin from the patch, ride along on a hay ride or train, play games, jump around, pet some barn animals, and get lost in the corn maze.

8. Bluff Dwellers Cave
Caves are a really fun place to visit, especially when the weather is too hot, cold, or rainy. Bluff Dweller’s Cave in Noel is only a 30-minute drive from Grove.
The guided tour lasts about an hour. The cave has a few interesting formations and the strategic lighting adds to the ambiance while walking through the cave. We even saw a bat on our tour.
9. Old Spanish Treasure Cave
If you really love caves, then check out one of Arkansas’ caves: the Old Spanish Treasure Cave. It is located only 7 miles south of Bluff Dwellers Cave.
This cave has an interesting history involving Spanish Conquistador treasures. The guided tour lasts about an hour.
10. Twin Bridges Area at Grand Lake State Park
The Twin Bridges area is a popular fishing location. The State Park includes a boat ramp, volleyball net, horseshoes, a playground, and a picnic area.
It is a great place to enjoy some outdoor recreational activities. It is only a 25-minute drive north of Grove.
11. Natural Falls State Park
Natural Falls State Park is a picturesque state park with a variety of things to do for visitors. The short hike down to the falls is the most popular attraction. There are other hiking trails in the park, too.
Other attractions include a fishing area, two playgrounds, a disc golf course, a basketball hoop, a volleyball net, and picnic areas. Natural Falls State Park is about 45 minutes from Grove.
12. Claremore, Oklahoma
