1. Science Museum Oklahoma – Oklahoma City
The Science Museum Oklahoma is hands down the best Oklahoma museum around. You and your family could spend the entire day exploring all of the exhibits here.
Explore the Science Floor where you can see, touch, and interact with various exhibits. Get lost in Light Minded, an immersive gallery filled with stunning light displays. Head over to KidSpace where your little ones can play and learn at the same time.
The Mighty Mouth exhibit will make you appreciate your pearly whites. Ride a segway through an obstacle course. Kids can run around the Power Play area and the two-story treehouse GadgetTrees to burn off some energy.
The Aviation Gallery and Oklahoma Aviation and Space Hall of Fame are perfect for aviation enthusiasts, while Tiny Tracks and Eye On the Sky will fascinate the youngest visitors. And, take a journey through space in Destination Space.
Make sure to save some time to explore CurioCity’s amazing neighborhoods. Play a song at Riffs & Rhythms and learn physics at Spark Park. Odd-A-See Tower is a great place to stop and let the kids play.
The Science Museum Oklahoma offers a variety of live science shows that are sure to captivate children and adults alike. The exciting Weather Show explores the science behind extreme weather conditions. The dynamite Explosions Show showcases a variety of explosive experiments.
The Kirkpatrick Planetarium at the museum, included with admission, is a great way for children of all ages to explore the wonders of the universe. Offering immersive shows, visitors can take a tour of the night sky, learn about celestial bodies and space exploration, or view stunning documentaries.
Step outside to experience the beautiful gardens. The gardens feature native plants as well as vegetables and herbs, a water garden, and more. Kids will enjoy the lawn games and miniature excavators. The Kyoto Garden with a Japanese lantern and rock bridge is another highlight.
This is one of the more expensive museums, but it has a lot to offer. However, we used our Tulsa Discovery Lab membership to get in for free.
2. Jasmine Moran Children’s Museum – Seminole
Another wonderful children’s museum in Oklahoma to take your kids to is the Jasmine Moran Children’s Museum in Seminole. This museum has a large variety of activities and attractions to keep the kids entertained for hours.
The Explorer’s Hall has a dinosaur digging area, a real airplane to climb in, and multiple entertaining engineering exhibits. The science wing is more educational. It features exhibits on oil drilling and the body.
Main Street is great, especially for little ones. It consists of areas that let kids practice at everyday life. Each area is quite comprehensive and well thought out. Kids can play with animals at the vet clinic, work on a construction site, be a judge at the courthouse, work on cars in the mechanic shop, shop for groceries in the store, create art, make bubbles, be a firefighter, and more.
Keep going for water table fun and a multi-story indoor play structure at Roesler Hall. This is also where there is an area to eat your packed lunches. If you don’t want to pack a lunch, there is a cafe in the museum.
In addition to all of these great exhibits indoors, there is even more outside. Head outside to play on the playground or ride the train. The train runs 3 times per day and costs $2 per person.
Overall, this is a great place to take your kids. It is really well thought out and had plenty to entertain both of our 6-year-olds. We spent about 3.5 hours here during our visit.
3. Discovery Lab – Tulsa
The Discovery Lab in Tulsa is a marvelous children’s museum, perfect for youngsters of all ages! Interactive displays and exhibits guarantee that your kids will be captivated for hours.
Kids can make a splash in the Hydrolab and discover water’s fascinating properties; sort balls of every color at Ballapalooza; or climb around inside an enormous tape tunnel before returning to the ground with an exhilarating slide. With these exciting exhibits, your kids are guaranteed to have a great time!
The facility also provides classes, workshops, and camps to help foster kids’ imagination. If you’re looking for something fun yet educational to do with your family – this is it!
Once you are done playing at the Discovery Lab, head next door to the amazing Gathering Place for outdoor fun.
4. Leonardo’s Children’s Museum – Enid
Leonardo’s Children’s Museum in Enid is sure to captivate kids of all ages with its exciting exhibits and activities.
The first floor of the museum is packed full of exciting exhibits for kids to enjoy. Don’t miss the Giant Lite-Brite and be sure to stop by the Critter Clubhouse. From slithering snakes to colorful fish, there are plenty of fascinating creatures to observe.
The Power Tower indoor climbing structure is a two-story play structure for kids to burn some energy. There is also a separate Toddler Area that provides a safe and fun space for the youngest adventurers to play and explore.
Head to the second floor for even more fun. Here, kids can use their creativity to explore some careers and play pretend. From learning about health and wellness in the dentist and doctor’s offices to grocery shopping and farming, they can immerse themselves in scenarios that simulate real-life situations.
And if your child is an art lover, they can unleash their inner Picasso in the art section full of paint and easels! There are additional art and science classes included with admission on Saturdays. Ask the front desk about available times.
In addition to the indoor fun, Leonardo’s Children’s Museum also offers an exciting outdoor playground called Adventure Quest. This expansive playground that looks like a castle is perfect for kids of all ages to explore. Kids can scramble over bridges, climb through tunnels, zip down slides, or play on swings. There is also a sand area that little ones will love.

5. Tulsa Air and Space Museum & Planetarium – Tulsa
Kids who are fascinated by science, space, or technology will love the Tulsa Air and Space Museum. This Tulsa museum offers interactive displays to explain the science behind aviation and space travel, as well as exhibits on a variety of related topics.
Let your children explore the wonders of flight through hands-on activities and displays. Step outside to let the little ones play in the outdoor playground space.

If your kids are into trains, this small museum is worth checking out! There are scavenger hunts available to keep the kids entertained while looking around. Admission to the museum itself is free!
If you’re interested in taking a ride on one of these beautiful trains, all you need to do is purchase a ticket. They are $5 for children and $12 for adults. Rides are offered every first and third Saturday from April through August.

The Walmart Market is a highlight for kids to pretend they are grocery shopping, and the Nickelodeon Play Lab is perfect for kids to let their creativity run wild.
Water lovers will enjoy the Nature Valley Water Amazements. There is also the Homestead Farm and Cabin and a cave to explore.

Becoming a member in the Oklahoma museum network is a great idea. In addition to offering free admission and member-only events, you can also get discounted or even free admission to other museums by being a member.
The ASTC Travel Passport Program offers free admission to participating science centers and museums. There are some exclusions, but this can be a great deal if you are wanting to visit multiple museums on this list.
