If you have kids with you, you’ll find plenty of opportunities to take breaks and enjoy attractions like the Gathering Place or the 41st Street Plaza & Splashpad. There are also playgrounds at Helmerich Park, and River West Festival Park.
2. LaFortune Trail Loop
If you’re on the lookout for a delightful spot for a nature walk or bike ride in Tulsa, you should give the LaFortune Trail Loop a go! This trail is a 3.2-mile paved loop with benches along the way where you can take a breather and unwind.

There are a total of 19 trails to choose from. Most paths are dirt or grass. There is a trail, a former road, that is paved.
Our family favorites are the Bird Creek Trail, the Blue Heron Trail, and the Blackbird Marsh Trail.
4. Tulsa Botanic Garden

When it comes to walking trails, the Tulsa Botanic Garden may not be the first place that comes to mind, but trust me, it’s got some amazing walking trails!
The main garden area boasts the Floral Terraces, which wind their way up to the top of the hill. You can also explore the gardens further by taking a 0.75-mile walk along the Lake Trail.
5. Osage Prairie Trail
If you’re up for a long walk, the Osage Prairie Trail could be just what you’re looking for! This 14.5-mile paved trail takes you from Tulsa to Skiatook. While it’s mostly used by bicyclists, hikers are welcome too!
If you don’t feel like doing the whole trail, you can always walk a bit and turn back to make it a shorter walk.
6. Midland Valley Trail

Finding the Nature Reserve can be a bit of a challenge, but don’t worry, I’ve got you covered! It’s actually located on the beautiful campus of Rogers State University. Once you arrive, look out for the designated parking lot specifically for the trails.
9. Haikey Creek Park – Broken Arrow

Haikey Creek Park in Broken Arrow has a lovely 2.3-mile gravel walking trail. You’ll come across a neat bridge along the way. But be warned, it can get a little confusing in one spot. Just keep walking towards the road and you’ll get back on the trail in no time!
